Image Place Guillon, Vézelay The Maison du Visiteur, halfway up Vézelay's main street, tells the fascinating story of the basilica's architecture and symbolism through a film, a model and old tools (approx. 1 hour). The tour then continues inside the basilica (approx. 1 hour). The Maison thus connects the builders and stonemasons of the 12th century with today's pilgrims and visitors, acting as a guide (informing) and a travel companion (discovering together).Guided tours in French, English and Dutch can be booked directly via the Maison du Visiteur website. Groups can contact reception (+33 (0)3 86 32 35 65; mail). The website also lists the screening times for the film The Dance of the New Adam, about the basilica's large tympanum (50 min., in French, English or Dutch).Lectures, podcasts, workshops and seminars are almost always in French. We work as volunteers with the Maison. We recorded the Dutch translation of The Dance of the New Adam. Arno offers guided tours in Dutch, English and German.
